Library Thing

Anyone who knows me knows that I like to sign for various internet communities and services. (Like Blogger. :p) Maybe more things that one needs to sign up for. I have usernames and passwords enough for who knows how many people. This one may actually be useful.

Now you all can wander over to my Library Thing Profile and see all the books I have read or am reading from today on. I may from time to time go through my personal library and add books I have read and review them, but for now I'll be sticking to things I am reading at the moment.

For the lazy I have added a widget at the side to show ya'll what I am reading at the moment.

I hope you all enjoy seeing a little bit more of what makes me tick. :p

Belly Dance Mondays

Looks like Monday has officially become Belly Dance Class day. I loved my class. The teacher was super friendly and gave me lots of feedback, which I really need. One of the reasons I never went back to yoga class was the utter lack of any feed back. The studio was small, but nice. Clean and well decorated with a cute little change room. (it's too cold here to walk about in work out clothes)

She said she was confident that with time belly dance would help me lose what I call "The Buddha Belly". I really want to tone up my core, which is the last thing left of my post accident pudge. She also said it would help my posture (which is terrible!) and help me feel more graceful.

So now I'm on the "New Hobby Shopping Spree" And what shopping it is with all the pretty music and clothes. :) I bought a CD off of iTunes ($8 and change is a steal for a CD. I pay $7 - 8 for used CDs) and I ordered a pretty hip belt off of eBay. Shaggy thought it was really pretty too.

I'd like to get a full length mirror and a book soon, but I want to see if I can find dance move descriptions online. I really just need a refresher between classes and I'd really like to practice at home.

'Cause we all know, in anything, practice makes perfect. :)

Google has swallowed up this blog

Apparently using the old Blogger is no longer a choice. Though I have fought it for as long as I can I now have a Google Account. Sigh, yet another username/password set to remember.

Looks like there are some changes. I hope some of them are good. I like the labels, and maybe finally this thing will work in Safari, but I doubt it.

North of Bombay

Went to a nice little Indian restaurant called North of Bombay. I loved the decor and mentally took notes for when we move. (My living room has an Indio-Asian theme) I got a nice little mushroom dish that was a little spicy for me, but with bread tasted yummy. I'll just have to portion in out for my sensitive stomach.

Shaggy, got a shrimp curry that judging by how quick he ate it, he liked a lot.

I'm all excited about Monday. I'm taking my first belly dancing class at the studio down the street. I'll tell you all how it goes.

This just seems to be my year of trying new things.

CNN is the new FOX

While wandering about the internet today I found a 2 part video from CNN about Atheists and their current troubles in the good old US of A. Part one starts off ok enough. Your normal "X group under attack" story. They trot out a few families and explain the issue. Pretty straight forward.

Part two is where things get a bit hairy. Some how someone came up with the bright idea to do a panel on Athiesm without actually inviting an Athiest. I'm sure it can't be for lack of people wanting to participate. There are plenty of Athiests who are strong debaters. I'm sure they could have easily gotten Richard Dawkins or someone similar to happily debate on a panel. Not sure if it was laziness on the part of CNN or just sheer one sided reporting.

One thing's for sure though, CNN really dropped the ball on what could have been a wonderful enlightning report.

Happy Imbolc

I hope everyone had a Happy Imbolc. Or at least a Happy Groundhogs Day. :) I took a walk in High Park but ended up falling down and agrivating my back injury a bit. Hopefully with a little bit of rest and back rub it will be as good as it was. Maybe not quite good as new. :P

I am considering a walking stick for my High Park excursions, but I don't want to look like an old person with a cane. (Not that I have anything against old people needing canes, but a 23 year old with a cane is just silly unless they truely need it) I'm still thinking it over.

We went to Swiss Chalet for dinner and had an awesome slice of cheese cake. :)

I've been totally obsessed with Animal Crossing. I have both the DS and Game Cube versions, but I'm going to concentrate on the Game Cube version first. I just find it more comfortable to play on a larger TV then on a tiny DS screen.
