Book Tag

I stole this from Heima:t3h madn3ss of a mod3rn witch who stole it from A Penguin's Life or 12 Orange Hamunaptras:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag 5 people. I don't have 5 people with blogs to tag. So I tag Slap Maxwell, Bartman and the next 3 people to read my blog and you can post in the comments. :D

My results:

1. Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stroller (Yes that was the nearest book as I spent most of last night attempting to make my first gauge swatch.)

2. Yup

3. Got it

4: And here's what I ended up with:

This hat is great for beginners because it is done with repeated single crochet stitches going around and around, so all you have to do is count. The anarchy sign isn't complicated, either, because it's done in pieces.

Hat.

Starting at the centre top, with a larger hook and A, leaving a 10" sewing length, ch 30 and without twisting ch, join with sl st in first ch.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 2, hdc in the first ch, hdc in each ch around, sl st in first hdc to join --- 30 hcd.

What kind for dork am I to have a crochet book as my nearest book? 0.o

All I can do ...

I feel so crappy today. Shaggy has been sick for over a week now, and my body has been in "Can't be sick, must take care of husband." mode. It finally crashed and burned today. My whole body hurts, my throat is dry and sore and I have the sniffles on and off.

As fate would have it, my boss called me up today to let me know the salon is closed and since I feel so poorly I can come in whenever I feel better this week. I love my job.

I finally got around to taking advantage of my extra donator privilages at Guinea Pig Cages. Since I donate I can have a larger nicer avatar, but I have been lazy and just been using one of the guinea pig avatars on Cute Overload. Well some tart at Cavy Compendium (a forum that has been bashing and trolling my beloved GPC Cages) has decided to use the same premade avatar and I just can't have the same avatar as someone else.

So I made a super cute avatar featuring none other then my very own Miss. Lina. I also just had to add the lyrics from Chantal Kreviazuk's new song "All I Can Do". I love that song. It makes me want to make things.

Here's the avatar. I'm very happy with how it turned out:

Made with more stuff from Celestial Star and a bitmap font from Bitmap Mania.

Inspiration

After doing so surfing on the web I found an awesome site with avatars and other graphics. They also have some awesome tuts, brushes and textures.

Shaggy also really wanted a Rebecca Chambers avatar. After some Google seraching it was quite apparent that one was not to be had. So I decided to make one.

Not too shabby, eh?

Though I must give credit where credit is due. The textures, brushes and some of the fancy tricks are from here:

I'm starting to like this image editing thing again. I kinda departed from it when I stopped likeing anything I made. :(

Comments and requests always welcome. ^^'

Pop quiz 2!

Here's Shaggy's quiz results! (Not very surprising for me ^-^)

Which Tarot Card Are You?

You are the Sun card. The light of the Sun reveals all. The Sun is joyful and bright, without fear or reservation. The childish nature of the Sun allows you to play and feel free. Exploration can truly take place in the light of day when nothing is hidden. The Sun's rays fill you with energy so that you may live life to its fullest, milking pleasure out of each day. Such joy and energy can bring wealth and physical pleasure. To shine in the light of day is to have confidence, to soak up its rays is to feel the freedom of a child. Soooo, what did the rest of you get?

Pop quiz!

I love quizzes. I have so much fun with multiple choice. So I figured I'd post the results from the quiz "Which Tarot card are you" here. Leave a comment to let me know what you got! I love seeing what other quiz prizes other people get. It's like the fun of getting a prize out of the gumball machine without losing a loonie. :)

Which Tarot Card Are You?

You are the Empress card. The Empress is the archetype of the Mother. She creates and nurtures life. She represents the abundance of Mother Earth. The Empress is capable of using nature in a productive way. She espouses art for art's sake. Her planet is Venus, and she embodies love of beauty and a strong value system. Here is also found initial sensation. This is the first really physical experience of the world that The Fool has entered. The Empress has a rich understanding of the world based on her five senses. In a reading, The Empress represents pregnancy, actual or metaphorical. She indicates an act of creation and a sensual experience of beauty. The Empress is a nurturing force that wishes to see the product of her experiences reach the next stage of development.
