Addicted to Yoga

I swear it's totally addicting. I mean exercise that as slow, incorporates all the stretches I had to do for physio and helps me with my meditation. Well sign me up!

It's like the missing puzzle piece. I enjoy it even though at the moment I must totally suck. But it's non competitive so it's OK if I suck. :)

And since yoga has to be done on an empty stomach and therefore the best time to do it is before breakfast, I'm more likley to just do it so I can eat sooner.

It's also a ton more portable then Dance Dance. Though I'll still do Dance Dance. But it won't be my main form of exercise.

It seems to be the perfect fit for my life. And I have never thought that about any form of exercise.

Next step, work up the courage to go to a studio!

Incense Insanity!

Ended up making it to the Occult Shop, but they didn't have the book I wanted. Well technically they did have a copy of Cunningham's Incense Oils and Brews but it was in Spanish. Which is odd, you'd think they'd have it in French, not Spanish around here.

But I still picked up lots of goodies. :) I picked up some charcoal discs, a burner big enough to fit the discs in, some myrr, and some more incense cones. Even though I am experimenting with loose incense I still want to have cones and sticks on hand for everyday use.

Upon searching for reviews and directions for the discs I found the oddest of products I have ever seen. Who would buy this?

I finally found the camera cord. So now you can all see just how crazy I am. I have like an entire shelf devoted to incense and incense tools.

And that doesn't even show the charcoal box (The silver dragon box I bought Shaggy back when we were dating.) the ash catchers all around the house and the all important lighters!

Nor does it include the awesome incense recycle bin I made for the ashes. I hate to waste and it's really, well, rude to just throw away ritual consumables but I had a really hard time finding an article or book that dealt with the topic, but now I know how I can reuse the ashes. As plant food! So of course I had to make something snazzy to put all the ashes in so I made this:

Shaggy said he liked it. I took that as meaning it actually looks really good to normal people. Not just artsy people like me. And it's much easier to use the the old bottle I was using.

Why can't keeping the rest of my house orginized be as easy as keeping my incense organized !?

Lazy Days.

Pretty slow day today. I'm so tired from all that work last week that I decided to lay low and not go anywhere. Just went to the pet and grocery store. Picked up around the house, that sort of thing.

I did pick up some herbs, to make incense, at the grocery store. I'm going to pick up some charcol blocks, a fire proof burner (not technically needed with stick incense. I have a cherry wood ash catcher on the altar right now) and a book on Herb Magic and Incense at the local Occult Store.

Baked and ground up some sage. My kitchen smells awesome. It smells like I can actually cook. ^^' Tried to grind up some cinnamon sticks but it's like impossible. Lucky for me that you can burn loose incense that is not ground to a fine powder.

I figure this is a whole lot more reasonable then making my own stick incense. I might work up the courage to make pellet incense, but for now loose will be a fun learning experiance. And an economical way to stretch out my incense supply, given that I probably consume more then the local fortune teller for 3/4 of the year.

The AC has put a dent in my habit. Can't burn it at night since the AC blows it away. So I've been using an amethyst crystal and some heavily scented body oil to help me sleep. Not as good, but better then nothing.

I guess you truely do learn something new everyday. I just learned amethyst is a type of quartz. Those witty sayings people *do* know everything!

Getting Zen with the Animals

Busy busy week for me. I've been doing the inventory at work with a program I have never even entertained the thought of using. Somehow I am managing, though I have been dreaming of counting shampoo bottles. 0.o

As a treat for myself I of course went shopping. :) I had to pick up some books for my boss (one for the program and 2 she just happened to want and since I have a discount card I get them cheaper.) While at the book store I picked up another tarot deck of course. I picked up the Animals Divine Tarot.

I love love LOVE this deck. For one it has a guinea pig card. Yes a *guinea pig* card. So I feel that this deck will work wonderfully with the pigs.

It has so many animals I feel that it would work wonderfully reading for any creature. My Medieval Cat Tarot is awesome with people but I don't feel it has the right voice for animals. The cats look all too human. The animals in Animals Divine are well animals.

I tried meditating with Spinel today. I borrowed the CD that comes with How to Meditate with Your Dog. Great meditation CD. But it doesn't mention animals at all!

I guess I'll have to wait till How to Meditate with your Cat comes out. Still not about guinea pigs but I do have cats.

My evening sucked :/

I had lots of totally awesome things to write about my trip to the zoo and my trip downtown on Canada Day.

But the stupid fire alarm had to go off tonight for no reason, totally freaking me out and causing me to start boxing up animals to evacuate.

It was horrible and now I have quite the head ache. :/

Those dumb soccer people with the horns and the whistles are so not helping. Must they start a small riot after every single flipping game? Imagine if people did that for every sport! Like every NHL playoff game or the like.

I will be a very happy woman when soccer season is over.
