Nothing much :/

Not much has happended lately. Bought hay, cleaned some of the house, played peacemaker with the cats, played Dr.Phil with some people. I've been busy but I haven't done anything interesting. Any cool stuff I have done I have to keep secret :/

So I basically have nothing to write about. I'm a bit sleepy (though not enough to go to sleep.) That may not be helping.

Meh.

Ironic Spirituality

Did more work on the essay thing again. I looked through all my books for pentacle references. I stuck to the more "fluffy" happy books. I have a couple darker and tounge in cheek books that I didn't feel were suitable for this project. Heck I don't find them suitable for much. I just keep them for the sheer fact that my magickal bookshelf is not that well stocked. Wiccan/Pagan material doesn't show up in places were used books are sold and are expensive to buy new. My collection is growing, just not as fast as my fiction section is growing. Fiction books are a dime a dozen.

For the curious the books I used are: Solitary Witch and To Ride a Silver Broomstick, both by Silver RavenWolf and Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunninham. To Ride a Silver Broomstick was my first Pagan/Wiccan book. It is one of my favourites and it an excellent beginners book. I would love to find the other 2 in the series. They are not as common as her other book.

While stuying I stumbled upon some things to help me prepare for the next holiday: Candlemas. There are a few cross stitch projects I want to get done by then.

I am on my way to finishing my current cross stitch project. I am 3/4 of the way done the predominant colour. The other colours are just accents.

Ironically Aunti's essay is helping me intergrate my religion more into my daily life. We cling to things more when people try to take them away from us. Not them best reason to turn more religious but I guess it will suffice. It's something I have been meaning to do. I have just gotten more ideas on how to go about doing it in the past few days.

Well, I am sleepy and I am sure I will just start rambling on again, so I will spare you that horror and go to bed.

Oh happy day, I made a new icon. Credit for the image goes here. They don't have a site banner :(

Happy New Year? :/

Yeah, yeah, I know, it's been a while. I figured I'd spare you 5 days of the same rant.

Let's just say my visit back home was not quite what I had planned.

My husband's dear Aunti has decided to once again limit my freedom of religion in her presence. Before I was not to speak of it. Now I am not to wear my pentacle where she can see. And she wants a write up thingy on what it means since she feels it an anti-christ symbol.

So of course now I am dutifully looking up stuff to write an essay I have absolutley no direction on. I really don't want to write it. There is a whole bunch of good stuff already written on the subject. I could hand her one of many books. But she wants it in my own words. And quite frankly this is my once chance at being able to explain something to her so I have to take it up.

I will be publishing the essay on the main page when I am done if anyone here wants to give it a glance.

Funny though, the more I work on it, the stronger my ties to the God and Goddess get. It seems to be strengthening my faith. Not quite what Aunti had intended, eh?

I have also been working on quite a few crafts to calm myself down. I made a seasonal cage blanket for Lina (the flannel was supposed to be made into stockings, but we just bought them instead). I am also in the process of making another pony, doing a pentacle cross stitch (it helps me contemplate essay points) and making a coro box with a magazine cutouts all over it to store small kitchen appliances. I'll post pictures when I finish things.

I have been taking a lot of walks but it's been quite icky out, so no pictures. It's been rainy latley. We had pretty snow yesterday but I was walking with Shaggy so I didn't take any pictures. I tend to forget my camera when I am out with Shaggy.

I will probably write something more eloquent on the whole Aunti issue. But between crafting and walking I have been tiring myself out. :/ I think my brain wants a break.
