Guilty Little Pleasures

Mood: Blissfully Sleepy (cough syrup induced)
Listning to: C'est La Vie (PGSM)

I went out and finally bought my own portable gaming system this weekend. After weeks of being ignored by Shaggy and his cousin I broke down and bought something to do while Shaggy beats his cousin at Starcraft (again and again and again). Of course being me I had to go to no less than 3 stores to track down a *red* Gameboy Advance SP :) I should have headed straght to the Game Shack in the first place. They always keep rare things well in stock. Funny, for the store with the least amount to floor space, they almost always have what I am looking for.

Of course I already had a couple Gameboy games at home (long story) but I just *had* to buy one of the new Pokemon games. I already promised Shaggy's little cousin that I would buy a game with a wireless controller so we could trade Pokemon.

I ended up buying FireRed since I have an affinity for red and pink things. But there is no Pokemon pink. It seems to be a liitle sexist for a family friendly Nintendo game. I mean the in first versions of the game (red, blue, yellow and so forth) you couldn't even pick the gender of your chracter. You were stuck as a male. I mean what self respecting little boy would walk around with the name Sabriel.

I haven't played Pokemon in ages. I think I was 15 year old the last time I played, but the games are still as addicting as ever. I think it will serve as a very good distraction from the stress at work. Things are getting really ugly at work.

Sometimes I wonder about how people got the positions they got at work. I mean is it a requiremnt that you have to be a complete idiot to get promoted. It seems that way. The two people who stress me out at work have to be the biggest idiots I have ever met! One is a forman who seems to have a talent for scewing with things that are working fine. He told Shaggy's *entire* section to stay home even though they had work the next day. Then we have the HR rep that has been shuffeld through no less than 2 postions in the last 2 years and now is eyeing my job since she is *certified* for it. Well I hate to tell you lady, certified doesn't equal smart. She can't even do simple paper work right when I'm sick and they have her fill in for me. I always have to fix something. And she doesn't even do all the paperwork. I don't know how she expects to steal my job when she is so lazy. Her only chance is if I quit. Even then, I think they would hire someone else. My job is to important to have someone so incompetent do it.

Oh well, I have yet another distraction to get my mind off of it. Maybe I will finally get over this cold. It must be a bad one. Even Shaggy caught it. He never gets sick.

A yen for your thoughts

Mood: Tired^^'
LIsting to: Nothing ( a very rare occurence)

Yesterday I ordered some things from Amazon Japan and was shocked by the price of shipping from Japan (especialy Amazon since the last time I ordered something from J-list it wasn't so expensive!) it was ¥5000 for 1-3 day shipping. That's like $50 US! My order was ¥5040! And I ordered a pretty expensive dvd. Oh well. It's worth it. I want my Pretty Gaurdian Sailormoon book and DVD *^-^*

Japanese classes are going well. I seem to annoy my sensei a little. I already know the whole hiragana chart and I'm learning the katakana chart. The class, however in only on the "n" line of the hiragana chart so I can rattle off all the hiragana on the flash cards she's showing us while the other students are still scratching thier heads (except for Shaggy. He knows most of them too but he is too shy in class *^-^* He's so cute. Reminds me of high school *^-^* )

It's getting colder up here in Toronto as the winter aproaches. I made my annual trip to the mall for a new pair of earmuffs and mitts (mine wear out or get lost every year). I got pretty pinks ones this year. I get so sick every fall since I moved up to Toronto. It's so windy and the hot/cold/hot weather makes me very sick. Hopefully when I feel better I can get around to blogging more.

That's all for now folks.
