Neofrustrations
Mood: OK ^^'
Music: None, I'm too tired for that.
Yeah, I can finally post again! I was having issues with that.
For that past little while I have been embarking on the quest to make my little sister's Neopets guild look good. She asked me because she know I know html. (I mean I've been coding html since I was a little older than her and she's in grade school so that says alot. That was back when all I had was the Geocities HTML editor ^^')I figure sure, why not. It'll make her happy (since most of my family and almost all of my mother's side won't speak to me, that's a big thing) and it shouldn't be that hard. All she wants is a simple yet nice looking page that shows up almost the same in most browsers.
That was great. I had a design that I liked alot (almost more than the upcoming design for Sorceress & Swordsman) and it only took me a day to figure out. (I shelved the update for S & S for a little while. I love my little sister alot and I promised her) I was doing good. Till I tried to upload the whole shabang on to the Neopets page that my sister's guild inhabits.
First, it won't serve the images. That's ok. I have my own domain space. What you are reading inhabits that space, but I do use the services of Blogger so that's not a foriegn concept.
Second, I can't link *OUT* in the html code or it won't upload it. I can link images , but not webpages. At this point I'm thinking, Ok, you want me to HOST the images for free but I can't make a HOSTED BY banner linking to my domain. How cute.
Third, even with those changes in mind, when I manually changed the code ( I use Dreamweaver but I do retain enough skill to tinker with the code) to fill these requirements and finally got the thing to upload, Neopets somehow mangled my code and it looked horrid. For some odd reason blank table frames didn't work. They work in the original html file when you view it in Safari or Firefox, but when you upload the html code to the Neopets server it doesn't work. Go figure.
But my clever little sister assured me that you can put visit me at blahblahblah.com in text (as long as you don't make it a link or put www. or http:// before it)on the guild hq page and sort of use is as a splash page for the guild webpage.
And I'm ok with this whole thing (somehow I got roped into hosting the whole thing now. But that's ok 'cause it's my little sister and I promised *^-^*) but I still wonder, how did all those other people get such nice looking pages with so many limitations.
Oh well, sleep makes everything better. Besides I have class tommorow and I have my Pretty Guardian Sailormoon TV Book 1 comming in the mail so I can't be too cranky now can I be. *^-^*
